A couple of weeks ago, I arrived in the Philippines to begin my two-year service as a Peace Corps Volunteer. One of our first nights here, we had a cultural celebration that included an hour-long dance performance that featured all of the Philippines' important dances. This made me think of DAN 250 and our many discussions around the importance of the history of dance and how it ties into beliefs and cultures. Your class helped me appreciate this performance in the Philippines much more than I think I would have otherwise.
